Biophilic Design: Living in Touch with Nature
Biophilic design aims to integrate natural elements into the built environment. Large glazed surfaces, internal courtyards, green walls, timber finishes and natural stone are its core components. Research shows that spaces designed in connection with nature reduce stress levels and improve quality of life. Applicable at every scale from villas to urban apartments, biophilic design features increasingly in our projects.
Smart Home Systems
Smart home systems that control lighting, security, heating-cooling and blinds from a single app are rapidly becoming a standard component of mid-to-upper segment homes rather than a luxury. The advantages they offer in energy savings, security and comfort amortize the initial investment quickly. Planning the infrastructure for these systems during the shell construction phase is far less costly and disruptive than adding them later.
Minimalist Facades and Clean Forms
Clean, geometric facades free of ornamental complexity continue to dominate modern residential architecture. Large window openings, flat roofs and mono-material cladding reinforce this simplicity. At the same time, there is growing emphasis on material texture — timber cladding, exposed concrete and metal detailing add both character and depth to facades.
Flexible Spaces and Home Office
The hybrid working model that took hold after the pandemic has made the home office indispensable in residential design. Flexible plans that can transition from guest room to study nook, play room to gym are in high demand. Acoustic insulation, appropriate lighting and ergonomic design are the factors that determine the productivity of these spaces.
