This facility for Pemag Machinery is precisely engineered to meet the specialist infrastructure demands of heavy machine manufacturing. A double-reinforced raft foundation, 10-tonne overhead crane system and hardener-additive industrial floor slab are the defining structural features of this project.

Project Challenges
Designing a specialist structural system for heavy CNC and press machinery transmitting dynamic loads of up to 20 kN per tonne.
Dynamic loads transmitted to the floor by CNC machine tools and industrial presses made standard reinforced-concrete slab solutions inadequate. An overhead crane beam integrated into the steel columns was also required for the 10-tonne bridge crane, and floor wear resistance had to meet industry specification.
Our Solutions
Based on ground investigation findings, a 300 mm thick double-reinforced raft foundation was designed. An overhead crane beam system integrated into the steel columns provided 10-tonne lifting capacity; the floor surface was finished with hardener-additive concrete achieving 4 N/mm² wear resistance.
