A durable industrial building designed for a 30-year service life under heavy use with minimum maintenance costs.
The client required the building to operate under heavy industrial use for 30 years with minimal maintenance. Material selections, corrosion protection systems and structural connection details all therefore had to prioritise long-term durability as the overriding design criterion.
Our Solutions
Steel structural members were coated with a Class C5-M corrosion protection system. In reinforced-concrete elements, the water/cement ratio was kept below 0.40 to enhance carbonation resistance; critical connection details were secured with dual galvanised + epoxy coating. The building was handed over complete with a Year 10 inspection plan.
